HURRICANE IRENE caused us to lose approx. 230 ' from the pier recently, but we are committed to getting back to a 100% REBUILD by SPRING! ........... The STAFF of Bogue Inlet Pier would like to thank everyone for their kind outpouring of support and prayers in this rather challenging time! ............. the PIER was re-built after Hurricane DIANE in 1984 after losing 238' ............We were also struck by HURRICANE FRAN in 1996, losing 400' .............. Special thanks to the TOWN of EMERALD ISLE for their tremendous support and blessings that have really helped get the momentum going to complete our task ahead! ............ We have all of the remaining pier open to the public, and it is SAFE and SECURE! ............. The best part is we are just in time for FALL FISHING SEASON! ..............
