SEA MULLET on the end, BLUEFISH , BLOWFISH , and a few BLACK DRUM for VETERAN'S DAY helped make the rainy day a little more bearable! .......... Just proves that there are some big ones swimming around, if your lucky enough to get them to bite your hook! ......... BLACK DRUM and SEA MULLET in addition to BLUEFISH and BLOWFISH have made the first week in NOVEMBER a good one! ........... BLACK DRUM in the morning and SEA MULLET late evening into dark hours on the end are the highlight right now ......... Congratulations to MARSHA BASS (Kinston, NC)--6 lb. 10 oz. BLACK DRUM .......... and ERNEST RHODES (Maysville, NC)--1 lb. 3 oz. SEA MULLET! ........... They are a good example of the catches we are experiencing right now! ........... We haven't seen any more SPOTS , but we haven't given up hope; there may still be a run, although we are really running out of time. ........... BLOWFISH are in the 1 lb. range; they truly are the "CHICKEN of the SEA!" ........... Be sure you clean them properly; someone told me they are also nicked named "SEA SQUAB", because they really look like that after being cleaned! ........... We received a nice bit of information from JOE MATTHEWS about the 2009 EMERALD ISLE BIKE RALLY! ........... The rally raised a whopping $8000.00 and was donated to the EMERALD ISLE FIRE & RESCUE on Saturday! ............ Many thanks to all that helped make this year's rally a success, and we're definitely looking forward to next year! ............. 11-1-09 .........SUNDAY .......... BLOWFISH are back! ....... We've seen a lot of nice-sized SEA MULLET this weekend, along with a few FLOUNDER , BLOWFISH , and GRAY TROUT ........ Most fish are being caught on shrimp and artificial bloodworms ......... On Friday night and Saturday morning, BLUES were biting on Gotcha plugs at the end ......... Last night, some pretty SEA MULLET were being caught towards the end of the pier, as well ......... Some SPOTS were being brought in Friday, but they seemed to have cooled down since then ........
